The warrior code demanded she avenge her honour.

I totally forgot about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies until I saw a girl reading it on the metro the other night. I literally read some paragraphs over her shoulder, and saw she was at one of my favorite scenes (Elizabeth/Darcy interaction while Jane's sick at Netherfield)... but there was something about finding a cure for the zombie virus. I ordered it from the library as soon as I got home.

I got the notice it arrived today and, omg, too fucking awesome. I've read Pride and Prejudice at least a dozen times, and seen the BBC version about as many (I don't think about the travesty that starred Keira Knightley).

I.. I.. have to give you a couple excerpts. If you know P&P as well as most Austenites, you'll totally recognize the lines, but they have zombie-flair! These are just from the first three pages:

"What is his name?"
"Bingley. A single man of four or five thousand a year. What a fine thing for our girls!"
"How so? Can he train them in the ways of swordsmanship and musketry?"

"... though I warn you that none of our girls has much to recommend them; they are all silly and ignorant like their mother, the exception being Lizzy, who has something more of the killer instinct than her sisters."

"Do stop coughing so, Kitty, for Heaven's sake! You sound as if you have been stricken!"
I'm not normally one for popular fanfic or parodies, but how much more random can you get than adding zombies to a classic?

books, pride and prejudice and zombies, pride and prejudice
