Cold hands.

Last night I was supposed to meet a friend to shoot darts at 8. I was leisurely writing and having a drink around 7:45 when he texted he couldn't make it. Instead of going home to shoot I decided to stay out and around people, so I packed away my writing, pulled out my darts and mp3 player, and settled in for the solo practice I'd originally planned before he suggested we meet up.

I'm still listening to A Storm of Swords, and I remember when I shot/listened on Monday, there were a couple sex scenes. Not erotica-explicit, but enough to make listening to them in public not 100% comfortable. I kept giggling and covering my mouth and I'm sure people thought I was a nutjob (they're not wrong).

The version I have is divided into 145 tracks at approximately 20 minutes a pop. Unfortunately, my mp3 player siphoned the tracks into 3 separate folders with little logic (Track 1, 2, 4, 6 in one, 3 and 5 in another). This means I need to be aware when I'm hitting the end of a track that's the last in a sequence so I can back out and start the proper track. When I'm shooting for a good 2-3 hours that can get annoying since I really zone when I practice. Once I listened to 45 seconds of the next track before I fully realized I was on the wrong one.

Another problem is some of the tracks simply don't play on the machine. They play on a computer but my player doesn't like a few of them. I'll be happily listening and shooting, then have to switch to music because I can't start the next in the sequence. This totally happened last night just when Sansa and Tyrion were about to consummate the marriage. I don't know if they're successful, I have no idea what happens because the fucking thing wouldn't PLAY. And there's no way I can just skip on ahead.

You know I brought the whole thing to work today so I can continue when I'm working on mindless items. I'm not so sure how a vocalized sex scene will go over when it's blaring out of my speakers, however.

i am that person and i don't mind, a song of ice and fire, darts
