ETA: Random movie trivia, re Cate Blanchett's nomination for Best Supporting Actress in I'm Not There. The little newsflash says that it's the second time an actor's been nominated for playing the opposite sex, but doesn't offer a conclusion. Luckily, the movie in question was a favorite of my mom's back in the day although I didn't watch it until high school.
Linda Hunt, from The Year of Living Dangerously, and she won the award. Unless they're referring to something else, at which point this would be the third time and I have no idea what the other is.
