Week in Review - Week of 2010 February 21st - 27th
My week started down emotionally since I was dealing with lingering breakup issues, but the week got better as I got a handle on my emotions and enjoyed the time I had with people visiting and here in town. Event-wise things were interesting - I WFTDA tested for derby, got to role-play with HotaruGirl and see That_girl_Lola and Elbanditorojo, hang out with Adshru and meet her husband, see Callipsofacto and P37 while they were in town and go with them to see Danielle Ate the Sandwich, and then see Jalyru and my sister cmhusted on Saturday. Woot!
Sunday IceSpark and I got up early for a morning endurance practice. IceSpark didn’t skate, saving herself for the afternoon session, but did offer me advice on my crossovers. After lunch we both WFTDA tested. After four hours of skating I went back to IceSpark’s to shower and grab a quick nap before picking up HotaruGirl to go to That_girl_Lola and Elbanditorojo’s house to role-play. It was great to see That_girl_Lola and Elbanditorojo, and when HotaruGirl and I got back to my apartment, we went downstairs to hot tub and then role-played a continuation of the earlier story with Elbanditorojo before bed.
Monday before work HotaruGirl and I went out for breakfast, and after work I went to IceSpark’s to MUX. I was exhausted by the end of the day, and didn’t really feel like role-playing, but I hurried on anyway since I was trying to catch Sydneygb before she went to bed. Alas, Sydneygb was too tired to role-play either, so I ate the lovely dinner IceSpark whipped up for me, and then mostly got admin stuff done before running one scene with Horsetuna and another with IceSpark before bed.
Tuesday my boss stayed at work until 10 PM, which was a little disconcerting, and I wound up taking my last break late since he had a meeting with me about what I’ve been spending my time doing. I’m on a lot of projects that aren’t tracked in our regular work system, so he was checking up on me and advised me to make sure I did some “productive” work as well. After work I hurried home to see HotaruGirl before she passed out, but she was so sleepy it wasn’t long before she was too tired to even talk. I let her sleep and got laundry and computer stuff done.
Wednesday I took a half-day to go see a show with Callipsofacto, P37, HotaruGirl and Stephaniebcl. We had dinner first at Brugge Brasserie, and then went to Birdy’s to enjoy a performance by Danielle Ate the Sandwich. Adshru, Chru, and Pandara met us there, and all of us seemed to like Danielle’s performance, staying afterward to buy CDs and get autographs. After the show we dropped Callipsofacto and P37 off at my apartment and then HotaruGirl and I went back to Lildomino and Pandara’s to sleep.
Thursday morning I had breakfast with Salamander42 and Pandara and then brought food to IceSpark as well, who was working from home. After work I went back to Pandara’s to pick her up, and then the two of us went to Skateland. Pandara rollerbladed while I worked on matching her speed as she sped up and slowed down, which will be a useful derby skill. It was a lot of fun having Pandara with me to skate, and around 1 AM we left the skate rink and got food before heading back to Pandara’s for bed.
Friday morning I woke up early and kissed HotaruGirl goodbye before heading back to bed to sleep in late with Pandara. Work was hectic because it was the last Friday of the month, and I was exhausted by the time I escaped. When I got to Lildomino’s, she was sleepy as well, so I ate and then soon joined her in bed to snuggle. I didn’t know if I could actually fall asleep that early since I’m used to staying up late, but it turned out not to be a problem. I lay down in Lildomino’s bed to snuggle her at least until she passed out, and wound up conking out almost immediately as well.
Saturday I got to sleep in after Lildomino left for work, and then got up to try to be productive before I had to go pick up my sister from the airport. However, I was thwarted by a constant stream of calls, IMs, and texts, and eventually gave up and left to get Cmhusted. We went back to my apartment where we met up with Jalyru, and then went to dinner and to see Legion, which was bad but entertaining. Cmhusted showed us pictures and gave us presents from her trip to Florida, and when she left I went to IceSpark’s to sleep.
