Another up and down week
Oy. Another up and down week. It started out well, with a lazy Monday spent lounging around with cassiopia, catching up on Battlestar Gallactica. The idyllic day off was somewhat spoiled by time stress once I had to hurry back to Indy to MUX, which was somewhat of a waste since I couldn’t get my laptop working. icespark endured my frustrated crankiness and then soothed me with snuggles.
Tuesday night icespark and I went to the Indy Poly Group Meeting at the Paradise Bakery and Café. It was fun to hang out with A-, maddjakkthevile, Stbr, and T0{, and meet more poly folk here in Indy. One of the people I hadn’t met before lent me a Robert Rimmer book. Looking through it, I was amused at how “scandelous” and “shocking” the idea is of a man living with two women in the novel’s setting of1964. Does anyone really still care or even notice these days?
Wednesday I hung out with lildomino, and she kept me company while I filed my taxes. My sister and I are going back and forth about which of us should claim our mother as a dependent - Mom relies on Chhu more for day-to-day physical assistance, but I offer more financial support, which is supposed to be the point of the tax credit. Plus, I make more, so taking Mom as a dependent would benefit me more. Hmm…
Last night I had a date with Mika. She made dinner, and we ate while watching the second half of Evil Dead II. Afterward we snuggled and had another round of relationship discussions. She’s dipping her toe into dealing with the whole poly thing, so she had lots of questions about my other relationships. I did the best I could to define the ever-shifting cloud of people important to me.
I was supposed to go out of town to see lemur_lady this weekend for her birthday, but that got pwn3d by my work schedule. Since I’m therefore free, Mika wanted to hang out with me again tonight. Since I haven’t had a night to myself in weeks, I turned her down, as much as I hate to do so. I have to work tomorrow, so I’ll prolly do laundry, journal, go over my taxes again, and deal with the thousand other things I have yet to do.
Tomorrow after work icespark and I are having a date night. We haven’t had time to go out and have fun alone together in a while (listening to me stress about MUXing doesn’t count), and we’re both getting cranky with each other. I’m not sure what we’re doing yet, but with luck we’ll have a chance to touch base and make each other feel more loved and appreciated.
This weekend hotarugirl is coming into town, and Sunday I hope to hang out with lildomino and her. What we do depends on whether lildomino is busy or not… roleplaying has been suggested if lildomino is working, but will also depend on mood and prep time. I didn’t think I was going to get to see hotarugirl this month, so getting to see her is a good silver lining in getting stuck in Indy this weekend.
