I was meeting Mom and Alison for dinner tonight, and I had left my laptop bag in the car when I went home from work - didn't even think about it.
When I realized it when I got to the Refectory's parking lot, I tucked it under the seat to make it less obvious.
Turns out that didn't matter, as the thieves who busted into my car busted into every car parked in the back and side rows of the parking lot, and took the laptop, among many other thefts tonight.
Filed a police report, drove home to the sound of broken glass falling out of the windowpanes, and called my insurance. I called my boss to report the stolen laptop and I get to go from there. Thank GOD I have HDD encryption and I wasn't carrying any SPI.
It's still annoying as hell, though, and it just kinda feels like November is all about me being karmically shit on.
Edit: Oh, and taping a trash bag over the window is fuuuuuuuun.
