Did you, er...not want a fancy dinner for Thanksgiving, then, Miss Saya?

I don't mind it.

Oh, good. I'd been hoping to have one again, just like we do every year, but if you'd preferred we didn't I would've gladly thought of something else.

I'll go upstairs if I get tired of the noise.

Well, I hope we won't make too terribly much! But really, thank you, I'm so glad it won't be too much of a bother.

Is there anything I can make you for it? I remember Penny and I once had a Thanksgiving dinner together and she wanted things that didn't have meat in them, so I have quite a few recipes for things like that--and plenty of time to look ones up, if there's something special you'd like to see on the table.

Make whatever you like.

Tell me about your family.

My family...? Oh, we don't have Thanksgiving in Daventry, I'm afraid; I didn't know about it at all until I came here, and Sam told me about it. But it's such a lovely holiday, I think, and great fun to celebrate, so perhaps we will have it once I get back...er, whenever that may be.

Well, I'd like to know about your family.

I have a portrait of them hanging in my room, if you'd like to look at it! It was a Christmas present, and a bit magical, I think, since it's one we never sat for. But I'd be glad to tell you about them, too. There's Daddy, of course, King Graham of Daventry, and then my mother Queen Valanice, and my twin brother Alexander.

You have a twin?

I do, yes! And a long-lost one, at that. He only just came home a day or so before I found myself here, so I've never had much of a chance to really know him. He was kidnapped when we were both only babies, and he was gone almost eighteen years before he managed to find his way back to us.

I only met my brother when I was fifteen.

And did he turn out to be very nice, your brother?

Yes.

I think you would like him.

I'm sure he must be wonderful. Oh, but, er--he wasn't kidnapped, too, was he? Why is it you didn't meet him for so many years, may I ask?

No.

Who kidnapped your brother?
