What's this?

Tick-tock, tick tock. I hear a clock but I don't see one.

I don't know where I am, and that's not particularly common. But it does seem very...I don't think familiar is the right term. Although it feels that, too. Interesting.

This isn't New York.

Hello. I'm lost.

Most people are, I'm afraid, when they first arrive here. Er--that is, you have just arrived, haven't you? If you'll pardon my asking?

I have. By minutes, at least.

Oh, I see. Well, I'm afraid you're right that this isn't your New York at all. It's a place called the City.

The City.

Tick-tock.

It sounds familiar.

Yes, that's the ticking you're hearing. It's because you're alone, you see--you only hear it when you're by yourself, the sound of the clock beneath the City. Are you near a fountain, at the moment? That's where most people usually end up, when they first arrive here.

What's your name?

Oh, rats, that's right, I do always forget to introduce myself. I'm sorry. Hello, I'm Rosella, and it's very nice to meet you.

Oh, goodness, I know you, don't I? You're Sam's--are you Miss Saya? The Miss Saya? You, er--do you happen to recall someone by the name of Sam Witwicky?

Do you?

[There's a pause]

Sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't put a face to it. Unusual.

He was--he'd recognize you, I'm sure, if he were here, but he's...he left a few months ago. He was my best friend. And...and if you're the Miss Saya he would mention sometimes, then he always spoke very highly of you, too.

Did he? What did he say?

It was a very long time ago, but I remember I came to live with him just after you left. I remember he was quite sad that you were gone, too, and he'd mention you often. And I remember once, when all the visitors came, he was terribly excited about it because he was hoping he might see you among them.

How long ago was that?
