[The Jag's tucked up in the garage, and Chase has said his goodbyes to Rosella with the promised scheduling of another lesson before he asks directions to Saya's room. A hand back through his hair makes a makeshift comb, and he smooths the untucked, tailored shirt and dark brown leather jacket (not blinding her with clashing colours on the first meeting is entirely coincidental) before knocking at the door.]

[Saya opens the door to the room that poses for hers - her real room is actually behind this one, out of necessity. She's wearing something black, and sleek, and deceptively simple, the tailored lines of the dress flattering her figure]

[Chase may not have too much of an eye for clothing (although he can tell what's well made enough to be expensive), but he does have an eye for what it flatters, one he tries not to make too obvious.]
Hi. I mean, fine. For her first trip, she was... [Well, the honesty comes with a shrug.] terrified. But she'll get better.

But there's still a chance it might not be yours? [The question isn't really asked seriously, though there's a little gentle hope to it, Chase leaning one-shouldered back against the wall.] You're a mechanic? [Looking like that?]

[She considers this]
I'm sure we can find a different arrangement.
And yes, it is. It's also a difficult job, for a woman, if you're interested in automobile design. So I work mostly with industrial looms, for the time being.

Really? [There's surprise at that, although not too much. He doesn't want to look like he's just here for the car. To wit: a hand held out, gesturing back through to the warehouse.] Shall we get out of the corridor?

[She nods, and follows his gesture, moving to the entrance of the warehouse]
Yes, really.
Generally, I design looms for high-yield silk production, or specialty fabric production. I did intern, for a summer, with Ferrari, but they chose not to hire me on.

Are you easy to turn down?
[There's a quirk to his eyebrow that suggests he's got his own answer, based on all of five minutes meeting. But he grins and moves past her to hold the Warehouse door. Always a strange place for someone like Rosella to live. Perhaps more fitting here.]
Or did they assume a woman would be more interested in clothes?

Doesn't bother them on the Grand Prix circuit.
[If the warehouse is a way of compensating for that lack of fulfilment, he can see that at one time it was a good one. It's enough to pull his attention from her, looking back to the far corners.]

Presumably, you're paying for dessert.
[Not that it matters much since Saya's taste buds don't favor ice cream, but since ice cream is one of the few foods she can eat without getting ill, she'll go with that]

How did the lesson go?

Hello.
It isn't so difficult, and she isn't stupid. She'll manage.
Did you enjoy the car?

She's a beauty. Can't go far wrong with a classic.
[Hands in pockets.]
Have you remembered owning it, yet?

I remember working on them. When I opened them up, it began to come back to me.

[Saya pauses]
I'm a mechanical engineer. So yes, I can be a mechanic, although I'm overqualified.

[He's still looking curious, and more openly impressed with her qualifications.]
Unusual job, for a woman.

[She loves the Warehouse already - or maybe it's again - and exits, confident on her heels.]
I don't know what they assumed. Perhaps my Italian was not good enough.

And you haven't asked me for anything, yet.
