[Chase is just keeping his date. Assuming she'll be expecting him, he nontheless bypasses the garage doors to knock at the entrance to the living quarters of the warehouse. He's not here just for the cars, at all.]

[It's not that Saya's hearing is exceptional, as much as she simply has a great sensitivity to people nearby. She comes out of the garage, and she smiles when she sees him]

I think you're looking for me, Robert.

[He's caught with his hand practically on the door, starting, looking back and grinning.]

I think you're right. Catch you working?

No, no. Not really. I was doing some cleaning.

[Because she can. She moves closer, her heels clicking on the ground a little. She's extremely bundled up]

Don't you have heat in there? Come on - [And he goes to meet her, an arm loosely adding to the layers around her shoulders] don't stay out here for me.

There's heating inside the Garage.

[She doesn't wince, or cry out, but her arm does spasm once when he does that]

[Which he notices, but takes for now as a signal to loosen his grip.]

You're dressed for the arctic.

I don't like the cold.

[She takes him into the Garage, which is, in fact, very warm]

I try and stay as warm as possible.

[It really is. If he didn't expect them to be going out at some point, Chase would be taking his jacket off. That's not to say that he isn't also dressed for the weather - leather over fleece.]

Not been in New York long enough to be used to the winters? I don't like the cold much, either.

I manage. I take my vacation in Australia, in January. I dress warmly.

[She takes a key out of her pocket and her lips curve up.]

Yeah? I try to get over around then, too. Haven't for the last couple of years.

[She's not the only one with a smile. He cups his palms together in front of her.]

Are you going to tell me how I earned the promotion?

Sometimes in Hawaii. It depends on where my brother is, during the season.

[She drops the keys in his hands]

I injured my arm, and my shifting abilities aren't as good as they should be for this car.

Your shoulder?

[Back to what he'd dismissed earlier, hands curling round the keys but distracted from them.]

How did you hurt it? [And, obviously] I could take a quick look, if it's bothering you.

[She looks over at him, almost casually]

I was shot. It's healing. I'll be fine.

[It's not exactly the muscle sprain he'd imagined, although it can't possibly be as serious as the type of injuries he's more familiar with. A skimming, glancing shot.]

You were shot? Satya, that's not going to be fine. You should have gone straight to get it checked.

[She doesn't seem worried, but she does look at her shoulder, and unwraps her scarf and unbuttons her extremely expensive coat]

It was tended to. The bullet was taken out, I got stitches.

[She unbuttons the fine cardigan below, and carefully takes all three layers off in one go. Below is a shirt, almost breezy silk.]
