Only five?
Five times you thought you had everything planned down to the last detail...and then it fell through anyway.
1. Wyatt's birthday celebration. We took over the Tin Man hangout, had the decorations up and everyone had a part to play in getting him there after the shift was over. As they were leaving, Wyatt decided he'd rather just head home and relax, and his escort didn't know how to convince him otherwise. So Wyatt went home. And there we were... waiting.
2. Along the same lines, as I hurried home to get him and figure out what to say to convince him to go out, I actually got mad. Not sure why. I'd worked out the entire fight in my head and was practically fuming by the time I reached the door. Threw the door open, steam coming out of my ears, and there was Wyatt: setting the table for dinner. And the anger just went POOF.
3. I was taking Jeb to the city once, for a long weekend with Wyatt. We'd done all the chores, packed a bag and lunch. I remembered that we had to drop off some things to a neighbor, so I put down the bag and collected the other items in a large basket. Jeb and I were halfway to their house when he asked for an apple, and I realized that the bag with lunch - and our clothes - was still on the table.
4. We found a new location for the camp - we were always moving - and it was going to be the perfect spot for us to plan the next mission against the Longcoats. We'd scouted it out for almost a week, dug pits for the stoves and set up a perimeter, then covered it over to look abandoned until we got there. The morning of the move, one of the scouts returned to tell us that the Longcoats had found it. When we arrived, they'd set up camp. We overheard one of them comment that the Resistance did 'come in handy for setting up good campsites', because it was less work for them.
5. There was also that time that we'd set up a trap for the Longcoats, to knock them down a peg before the run on the Tower. The ambush went perfectly... until Zero showed up. Wasn't expecting that. Clearly, being killed wasn't part of that plan.
