Oct 16, 2005 22:08

Ophelia's asleep on her couch.

She is extraordinarily comfortable.

Also warm. Mmm.

*He just wishes to check on her, to make sure she is all right. The extra key she had given him makes a light click in the lock right before he opens the door, quietly. A quick glance into the living room does away with any need to check her bedroom for her. There she is.*

*Yrael's bare feet make no noise on the floor as he crosses over to her. He smiles slightly. She always looks so peaceful when she is sleeping.*

Her eyelids flutter open, just slightly, and she smiles up at him as her eyes drift shut again.

"'lo, Kitty," she murmurs.

*His smiles broadens just a bit as he leans down to place a kiss on her forehead.*

'lo, Ophelia. *soft, amused*

She manages to snag an arm around his neck when he bends down, and tugs gently on him.

"Cuddle?"

'Course. *Yrael eases onto the couch with her, putting an arm around her in a small hug. The other hand tucks a stray lock of hair behind her ear. There is not much that he wouldn't do to make her happy.*

Ophelia hums happily and wiggles around to rest her head on his shoulder.

"How've you been?"

*He tilts his head to rest it upon hers, smiling.* I have been quite well, if very, very lazy. It seems that it is the right time of year for being lazy, so I am just going with what feels appropriate.

"Lazy," she declares sleepily, "is wonderful. And just right for fall. Lazy with cocoa and soup and... yes."

Mmm... *chuckling* Lazy with cocoa, soup, still-warm fresh baked bread, tea and/or coffee, friends and lots and lots of sleep. Sounds perfect to me.

*He gives in and snuggles, lazily.* Why can it not be fall all year long?

"Because spring is nice too," she says, philosophically. "Just right for dancing in."

True enough. We must have spring for dancing. And for the plants to grow a bit so they do not get bored with all the lazing about in fall. Perhaps we should cut the year down to those two seasons. Spring and Fall. Dancing and lazing.

*His green eyes are closed as he talks, musing lazily.*

"But summer's for climbing trees. And winter is for playing. You need those too. Except maybe more spring and fall than summer and winter. I think."

Her eyes are slitted half open now, watching him with a small smile.

*It is hard to tell what age he is supposed to be, really. He could be anywhere from nineteen to forty, but it is hard to pin down. He smiles slightly.*

Oh, but summer is too hot, and the sun gets too bright to even nap in correctly and that is a tragedy, I tell you.

Winter is all right for more focused lazing. Sleeping, even.

She pokes his nose.

"You have to come outside and play with me sometime this winter. And don't you ever climb trees? You sleep too much, kitty."

*He wrinkles his nose slightly, grinning.* I will play. ... I will even throw you in the lake, if you like.

*Sly barely-opening of an eye.*

"Throwing me in the lake doesn't bother me," she says, her eyes shining. "I like the lake. Now, if I threw you in, on the other hand..."
