I don't know how many times I've said this by now... Stop it. Stop giving Prefect alcohol. Just stop. I can't believe-- he's an ALCOHOLIC. I've told the lot of you, more than once, that he can't have any alcohol. Don't give him any, and if you catch your inmates giving him some, tell meI expect the inmates to undermine my work ( Read more... )

It's not a bad idea, but I don't know how well an AA group would work in this environment. Half the point of Alcoholics Anonymous is that you can share your thoughts with people you then don't have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. This is too small a community for that to work.

Yeah, that's the problem. If we could find a way to keep it anonymous...

It couldn't work in person. Maybe run the group on a special filter, somehow?

Maybe. Working out a way to use the communicators anonymously is probably doable, as long as it only applies within the context of a 'meeting'. Otherwise it would be too easy to abuse.

If there's enough interest, think you could set something like that up?

We'd probably need to find a way to screen who gets on the filter in the first place. The last thing we need is someone getting on it and passing sensitive information around.

Almost certainly. Either I could create a subnetwork or -- sorry, not relevant. Just thinking out loud.

And I think that role could be left to Martha or someone else on the Infirmary staff. They're the most likely to know already who has issues with substance abuse and - well, the best placed to seperate people with an actual need from people looking for ammunition.

Yeah. Maybe Libby, if she's got experience with substance abusers.

Guess we'll have to wait and see what the others say.
