Now that you have managed to beat the Government Shutdown drum and whip up your bases, maybe you can just shut the government down. No, really. Shut it down and go home. And when I say shut it down, I mean it, unlike when you say shut it down.

See, in the real world and not the Never-Never Land that is DC, when something is shut down, nothing happens. If a factory or a business shuts down, those employed are truly out of work. When you say "the government is shutting down" what the vast majority of your bases and anyone else stupid enough to think you're capable of telling the truth actually think everything is stopping. How about you go on TV and instead of blaming the other side of the aisle, tell us that you will still draw a paycheck during this "shutdown". Your cronies and lobbyists will still be talking with you as you bill your employers (ie *US*) for those lunches and parties. Your staffs will still be working their at their jobs which are not subject to US labor laws, and your offices and "official residences" will remain fully paid and staffed.
Your "campaigns" will remain in full swing, such as the VP's as he is fund-raising (for what. exactly?) while blaming the Republicans. The lead Republicans in both House and Senate are blaming the Tea Party, and I'm sure they are fund-raising as well.

In short, this American know what you mean when you say "government shut-down" but unlike others who are in a tizzy that somehow they won't get whatever crumbs you offer them, I know your words to be just one more set of lies in a long series of them.

So...in less than 12 hours the government will "shut down"? If only that were true...

EDIT: Oh noes! Panic! From here: http://authorities.loc.gov/
"In the event of a temporary shutdown of the federal government, beginning Tuesday, October 1, LC Authorities will be inaccessible."
The bastards!
