100 Days of Happiness - Day Ten - Saturday16th December

Dec 17, 2023 00:12

Today's been rather a parson's egg of day - good in parts... The miracle of a replacement foodsaving volunteer fell through though, which means I'll be spending Christmas/New Year trying to find someone or else preparing to cover myself. Not quite as relaxing as I'd hoped...

The farmer started mucking about with the tractor/slurry tanker that has been parked in front of my view for about six weeks - they'd moved it slightly further down the track so I could see more, so I held my breath... but actually they left the tanker parked further away, and took the tractor away completely, so I'm hopeful... I can see fields and trees and the hill again!

I decided to have another go at finding a real Christmas tree that would fit and was (relatively) affordable - and I found one! It's a "Frazer fir" which I've not had before, and (importantly) smells very nice! Also the blokes let me take some off-cuts, so I can have extra Christmas greenery, and then I found a wire wreath thingie at a garden centre (which was very very quiet, so that the young lad was very chatty, and also let me have some off-cuts from their Christmas trees. *g*)

I couldn't write. I need to write - but I couldn't today. Argh.

A proper happy was catching up on The Voice UK, which I like alot, and snuck onto the telly when I wasn't paying attention (well, I don't watch much live tv really, so didn't see any ads for it). I watched the first episode, and it was so cheerful and good-natured and happy that I decided to watch the second as well. I like tv shows that make people feel good about each other...

Plus - I looked up, and there was the crescent moon... *g*
