I have to say, this hasn't been my best day ever - I ab dot a code, ad I dod like id. I also perhaps foolishly decided that it wasn't too bad, that I'd go a bit stir-crazy if I had to stare at the same walls and stuff still waiting for me to do that I'd been staring at all week, and that since the blue skies were supposed to vanish again tomorrow, I should go somewhere. Except that about fifteen minutes into the drive I started to wonder if it had been a good idea cos I was sleepy, and half an hour in I made a bad decision direction and what I'd planned to be about three hours out including a walk turned out to be five, and about an hour in I started to get a headache and face ache which never went away... *sighs*
To put all that into perspective, though, when I got home Mrs Landlord was just going out again - turns out that Mr Landlord fell and broke his hip this morning, and of course is in hospital... Noooo! He's okay, apparently, just... broken hip. Not nice. Then one of my book group returned her email about this month's meeting to let us know that she'd been in a car accident where the car was a write-off cos it had turned right over - Nooo! She seems to be okay, because she's coming to book group, but... More not nice! Never mind all the big things in the world right now... Come on 2020 - buck the fuck up!
But - I did eventually get to my destination, and had a wee walk in the refreshing sea air, so that was something. It wasn't metal detecting, but I did get a change of scenery. Plus - as I left home there was a rainbow! Over blue skies (well, the big grey clouds had just passed). *g*
The moon always makes me happy too. *g*
Came home via the supermarket (trying very hard not to breathe in anyone's direction, but I realised that I just couldn't cook tonight...) and bought chicken soup and garlic bread for an easy dinner, then crashed in front of the second Worzel Gummidge ep from Christmas, and tonight's The Voice, both of which also made me happy. Caught Live at the Apollo after that, with comedians I'd not seen before who all three made me laugh (Ellie Taylor, Tez Ilyas (brilliant) and Fin Taylor), so that was another happy. *g*
And finally - tomorrow is another day, and before then I hope there will be cold-drugs and sleep... *g*
