So glad you liked the show! I did wonder if it was one of those ones that was almost so England-centric that it might not always make sense to other people, but probably it's got nuances that add stuff but is still brilliant... *g* I love the theme song too, I have to say.
I've not managed to find any clubs so far, at least not nearby, that have space for new members or apparent real-life meetings. There must be some though - I can only hope they're like the clubi in Detectorists... *g*
How cool that you spotted a metal detectorist like that! Gorgeous beach pic, too. *g* You'll never guess what though. I went for a drive yesterday, and - I spotted my very first metal detectorist too! Well, not quite very first, cos there were a couple of guys who used to come to the field opposite where I lived in Cambs., but they were in the distance, this was the first that I actually spoke to. I was just driving up to a corner when I saw him on the road ahead, just packing his detector into his car! So, very unlike me, I changed direction, went up the road and parked, and asked him whether he knew any local clubs, or had recommendations for detectors... *g* And he said he'd found a bronze age axe the other day! How cool is that?!
Quite apart from the fun of finding treasure, I like the idea of having a reason to get some exercise (I'm rubbish when it's just me - I get bored even going for walks!), and I think it seems quite peaceful and meditative too. Bet it's a nice stress-reliever. *g*
Thanks for the dehumidifying ideas - I think I might try some, though I've a bit of an issue about space too, just to be awkward! Not much room for bowls of anything. Really I need a bigger house... not a huge house, just... maybe one more room, that all my bookshelves could fit into... *sighs*
