Thursday post...

...because it's Thursday. I was going to do a Wednesday one, but... then I went home... *g*

Right - first of all:

Done it! *g* 50,000 words in a month - actually in less than a month, clearly, as you've seen from my whinging... With any luck that's my blockage over - wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that I also took November off Job 3... I might have to think about that one... I haven't actually finished the story, there's definitely a few more chapters to go, but I think just having managed the 50,000 words counts, so I went ahead and validated (even though I have another couple of days to go - actually I kind of wish I hadn't now, cos of course I've lost my word-counter, which I rather liked updating. I know there's one in Word itself (obviously) but it's not the same as checking it, then going to update a pretty-picture-type icon elsewhere, somehow... it's that extra step that gives a sense of better accomplishment to it, somehow... Ah well - I wrote a Pros novel! *g*

Odd start to the day, already, mind you. I woke up at 5.30am, 20 minutes before my alarm was due to go off, thinking Really? Why? and really should have got up, but didn't. Then when my alarm did go off it turned out that I'd not taken it out of my bag the day before (it's my phone too), so I had to get out of bed then...

Then I remembered to pack my headset so that I could Skype mum happy birthday from work, and make sure she'd received the flowers I sent... only the line from work wasn't very good, and by the time I'd ascertained that she had indeed received the flowers, and that my sister had taken her out for the morning, and she was expecting my brother to pop round that evening - there was a wee voice in the background, and it was indeed my brother and his wife, and wee boy, and that was basically that - no way mum wanted to talk to me whilst her grandson was there! So I said Hi to my brother, who was also rather more focussed on what was going on there, and said I'd call back another time... bloody families!

I'm on a wee course this afternoon - barely an hour long, but in town so that I can delay my lunchbreak and nip into some shops that I need - broken watchstrap to replace, I need coffee for tomorrow morning, and it turns out that my sore shoulder is... let me get this right... rotator cuff shoulder syndrome (or tendonitis) and that humping a heavy shoulder bag around on it isn't helping... *sighs* On the bright side, I need a new bag anyway, I've not been able to find the kind I want, but I did stop at the market the other day, and found some promising bags there, so I shall see if I can find one that will sling across my other shoulder instead... But I need everything that I carry in it, every day! Argh!

My boss is still driving me mad - stop interrupting your own job in order to do my job, of which I'm perfectly capable! Doing bits of my job in the evenings/overnight does not make you a better boss, it makes you bloody annoying, and is disrespectful! Grrr!

Erm... aren't you glad I decided to post? *g* I'm re-reading the Temeraire books, and am up to Tongues of Serpents, the penultimate one before I can read the new one, Crucible of Gold - squee! Except that it's a big hardback, and I'll be finished the other just in time to go to London for a long weekend, and I really should wait until I get home again, rather than carting around a big hardback and being distracted anyway...

And in my final news - I'm going to London! It's the Scarsdale Weekend, albeit a somewhat odd and splintered Scarsdale Bash this year, but I don't care, it's not work and it is Pros-y mates, and there will be the Cologne Christmas market on Friday - tomorrow! - at which I'm determined to drink mulled wine this year, and... and... *g* Two days off work! London! Wheeeee! *vbg*

Shusshing now. How are you doing? *g*

PS - I wrote a Pros novel! (Okay, am still writing a Pros novel, but I've written more than 50,000 of it, which practically makes it written! *g*)
