Ho-ome...

There's something about coming home when you've had a long, lush weekend in London... when it's all about thinking back on that long, lush weekend in London... *g*

Which started out looking like this...

Although admittedly this was after Temeraire'd had a major strop when I tried to park her on the hill in UsualPlace, and refused several times to go either in or out of gear, though she did eventually let herself be manoevred into position... Starbucks helped though, as did being surrounded by Pros-y peeps who have the proper kind of priorities in life - foxcat74's understanding of the glories of a heart-touched latte, for example... *g*

We (five of us *g*) found our youth hostel, and then the night began to look like this...

...and then progressed to looking like this...

Yeay The Country Girl live in the West End - and oooh cos it was soooo different again, this time! Granted I've not seen it for a while now (definitely over a month!) but... there didn't seem to be any life to the characters when they came on - no buzz, or energy with the audience. They were all good - MS good as ever (he's been very consistent, and so has ML, I'd say), and JS was much improved from her earlier shows (though she still doesn't touch me, I'm afraid), but "Cookie" seemed off somehow, jerky and not... just not right, whereas before he'd been a fab character. Their accents actually seemed worse to me, where I'd thought them fine before - they seemed to be trying to tone them down a little or something, maybe because of the type of criticism voiced in the Q&A session (which I never thought was justified)? MS had changed some fun little moments - instead of doing Groucho Marx for one exit line, he vamped up posing in the doorway (no, not Doyle... *g*), and when he was complaining about Nancy he did these fun little jumps across stage whereas before he'd skipped and swished his dressing gown... *g* I'd say he's really been consistently good... I do wish someone other than JS was playing opposite him though, cos I'm afraid I do think that she (and their relationship) detracts from the whole thing, somehow... I suspect he'd spark much better off someone he doesn't know as well... All that said, I still enjoyed it thoroughly!

And then we went to find a pub... *g* (Ranks swelled to eight now, yeay Prosiness!)

And then it was Saturday...

...and there were parakeets in Holland Park, rather gorgeously enough! Not to mention a couple of half-naked blokes about to get hands-on... *g*

But more importantly, Saturday looked like this:

And there was much Pros-iness and chatting and saying hello to people dropping in (yeay heliophile_oxon and erushi and 3745rule for making it!) and pulling of lads-y crackers... And who won the quiz? Well there were apparently three teams who came equal, and you know who they were? All the lj slash teams, that's who - yeay Pros slash on lj! *vbg*

And there was a lamp to light our way into the night, and the next two days will have to wait until I've written tonight's Advent Drabble, and then had a nice long sleeeeep... *g*

Goodnight!

scarsdale, photos, see the world!
