Still behiiind, but I'm using this as impetus to keep going now that I'm back at ordinary old home again... *sighs*
Thursday! What did we do on Thursday? Made coffee and tea and bagels and toast on the Aga for breakfast, and then we actually played a writing game (for which - thank you, guys! *g*).
This was actually really good - we each had a prompt from the Prompt Box, a character, and the instruction that our characters were saved by the prompt... There are four Pros-y stories as a result,
including this absolutely gorgeous fic here. I failed slightly in that I didn't quite finish in the hour and a half, but I was only about five minutes and one-wee-piece-of-inspiration away, so I'm hoping to finish it tonight instead - yeay, first finished fic in ages! *g*
And then...
It was lunch time! I did like this pub - a very short stagger away, decent grub, and it felt nice and friendly too. And you could buy three drinks for a fiver, and they weren't all lemolades, either... *g*
Then sadness again, because after reviving cups of tea...
...we had to say goodbye to
jaycat92 - and then there were only three!
A bit more writing later, and possibly a wee nap or two, and we'd recovered enough to amble down to the village...
...to the other pub - The Old Bowling Green, which is independent of any brewery and had a fab pale ale called Moonshine, and one that
greengerbil seemed to appreciate called Daily Bread, and also a decent line in stuffed jalapeno peppers, veggie lasagne and sticky toffee pudding...
(We decided Doyle would have had prawn cocktail to start and perhaps the mushroom stroganoff, and Bodie might have got stuck into the (apparently) award-winning black pudding for starters, lamb chops for mains, and - the spotted dick for pudding (which we did hear someone order!) Oh, and there was a rather good photo in the ladies loos upstairs too, which must be checked out by everyone next time we go... *g*
Managed to get our very full selves up the hill again, under the rising moon...
...in time to watch one last Pros ep... There were half a dozen favourites left in the pickbox, so we pulled them all out and voted - there was a wee bit of wavering between Acorn Syndrome and Takeaway, but Takeaway won in the end, which yeay cos that had been my second choice... (my first was Stakeout) *g* Bodie in his leathers all scruffy, and Doyle all gorgeously domestic, and best of all their scene together at the fruit stand... Trouble with you, sailor, don't know your own strength... *sighs happily* And the bit at the end where they're three agents sitting disconsolate in the car, and Bodie asks Doyle what he wants to do next - love the way he says "Ray?" when Doyle doesn't answer at first... awww...
And then, of course, to bed - our last night...
