The format/photos kind of came naturally, in this case. I was just messing around on photoshop for the first one and the others I kind of made along the way.
I always appreciate that you take the time to list what you liked about the story - it lets me know what worked and it's always thrilling to see which details you pick out! I had a lot of fun just exploring which angles each of them came from (and the interesting thing about this story was that the dynamics just unfolded with relatively less planning than usual). I wanted to explore the idea of magic being very unconventional, very item-based, and I'm just pleased that you like it!
It's open to interpretation but my take on it was that Nino's magic does have its loopholes, so Ohno didn't necessarily break it, but he knew how to get around it. I don't think it was at all evident in the story and on reflection I should have fleshed out this point a bit more, but Nino's plan was actually to name Aiba King and keep Jun as a trump card... Though I do think that Jun does have his own magic that we don't see.
