walt blinks at him slowly and then he scrunches his nose and rubs the grit from sleep and the bloody rock and tallus around them out of his eyes.
"sorry," he mumbles, and clambers out of the grave.
there have been very few times in ray's life when he has been completely speechless; this is one of them.
I want to cuddle this image. Sleeping boys is my soft spot. Also cooking boys. No surprises here, eh?

nsldkjglkjes somewhere on the outskirts of some godforsaken town Ray comes back from whacking off on the other side of a berm to find Walt in his grave, again. he stares down at Walt, who's curled up (insomuch as one may curl up in a lozenge-shaped hole in the ground) in his MOPP suit, knees slightly bent and one arm curved as if in protection over his head. Walt's breathing lightly; Ray could wake him up probably just by staring at him hard enough, but he decides not to kick up a fuss this time, and heads over to Walt's grave. at least they're in the same fucking team now.

I haven't read that book since the ninth grade, but this is every bit as enthralling as I remember the real thing being! It's such an awesome AU idea, guh. Love it! Thank you so much for sharing!
