I may be way off base with this but.....
I think I'm starting to understand why Adam and Eve were told not to eat from the "Tree of Knowledge"
I think I have often wondered about this and wondered why they shouldn't know things.
As one who likes to learn about things and learn about new things, etc. well....
Yes- I also believe that Knowledge is Power. But I think it can also get you into trouble.
The thing is - (and especially nowadays- I think) if you know about something- you usually want it. OK- Obviously not always. But I can't help but think of the many things that I just thought I had to have because I saw them advertised in a catalog or on TV or the Internet or wherever.....
So like some fool.... I just have to buy them or it and "Whala!(sp?)" I would like to think I am wiser now concerning this. But still...
And even if you can't buy it or have it.... then you feel bad that you don't. Yet sometimes if you do- then you feel bad because in many cases- you wasted your money.
Then again- it doesn't always have to be something that you buy or is connected to money (I know- I know- It's always about the money- right?) - but you know what I'm trying to say-I hope.
I guess what I am trying to say is- If you don't know about something- you don't worry about it. This is not always a good thing either.
But I think God wants us to depend on Him more than we do. When we know so much (or think we know so much) we try to fix it ourselves and not ask for His help.
But also the more we have and/or know- the more we seem to want and/or want to know.We are never satisfied. We always think there's something better. Then we get what we think is better but often times it isn't or we don't feel it is so we keep looking or trying for something else. If we didn't know that there was something else- well I guess we might be happy or satisfied with what we have.
I may just be babbling on at this point but wanted to get my thoughts down.
