Dayton Celtic Festival (how it went, etc.)
Well I did go to the Dayton Celtic Festival yesterday. I got there about 2 p.m.
I was drinking from my bottle of "frozen water" before I even got on the bus to go down there. It was terribly humid yesterday but not so hot. It felt awfully hot at times because of the humidity. Thank God there was a nice breeze every so often.
Well when I got there I start walking around and checking things out. I also took some pictures which I haven't even put on my computer yet.
Found out a few more things about operating my camera (which I've had for four years now!) You'd think I'd know how to operate all the bells & whistles on it by now - but no.
I think I need to plan better for next year. I need to make a list of things to take and such. One thing I forgot to take was my lip balm.
I found out there was a water fountain there and I was able to refill my water bottle several times while there. And wonder of all wonders! The water was actually cold! Big surprize that was! Really the very fact that it even worked is a miracle in itself. One thing for sure- I wasn't going to buy water at $2 a bottle! That's ridiculous! I don't drink either so beer was out.
I do need to remember to get into the tent early before one of the bands starts up - because otherwise I'll have to stand for at least the first 15 minutes of the show (maybe longer).
I wish I had gotten to the tent where Scythian was playing sooner and I should have stayed and watched them longer. I think I may like them better than Gaelic Storm.
When I left to come home I think Dulahan was playing. I'll try to catch there show next year.
I could go back today for more but I won't. I will go again next year. Maybe I'll volunteer again. Don't know yet.
Oh-I came across a booth that had info on the Erwin surname- Clan Irwin. It caught my attention as I am a descendant(sp?))of a Rebekah Irwin/Erwin and William Montgomery. (I was hoping they had a Clan Montgomery booth there as well but they didn't.
Anyway I stopped and talked with the man awhile. We may be distant cousins. Who knows?
