That was an interesting experience!

I went to the scrap-yard awhile ago. I had an old countertop dishwasher that didn't work anymore.
When I got there I wasn't exactly sure where to go or how to get there but anyway...
I had to stop at this little building and tell them my name and what I had and then drive around the corner and then someone else told me where to go. I went over where he pointed and someone opened the door and got the dishwasher out and tossed it over to the side. Then I had to go back over to the little building and show my ID and I got a "ticket/receipt" and then I had to park my car over somewhere else and get out and go up to this other area and wait in line and then give the person my receipt and I got $9.50. Not bad huh? The place is just down the street so I didn't have far to go. It was all rather new and strange to me but now I think I know how it works. I wonder what they do with all of that stuff? Of course there were a lot of people there with cans. I don't have any but the ones we used to have I took to the firefighters after 9/11. I had several huge bags.

Now I do have several non-working washers and dryers in the basement. But they are too big for me to get upstairs on my own. Maybe I could get one of my neighbors to get them up and take them in for me. It would be nice. Not like I couldn't use the money. I would give them some of it just for doing me the favor.

I heard awhile ago that gas is now $3.95! here in Dayton. Don't know about everywhere else.

scrap-yard, new experience, old dishwasher, gas prices
