Mad Scientist redux
A couple of weeks ago, Don Clewin provided Joshua with some broken machines. One was a cuisinart (what were you thinking?) and the other was a wireless router. As per my usual method, I will quote the ensuing conversation:
Me: These are from Don Clewin.
J: Who?
Me: Oh, you know him. He wears fancy fencing clothes and we went to see him fight as Baronial Fencing Champion a couple of months ago.
J: Huh?
Me: He's Karl's dad.
J: Oh! Yeah, right! I know him.
Me: This is a cuisinart. Now, it has a VERY sharp bl...
J: What's wrong with it?
Me: The gears are stripped, so the motor no longer connects to the blade.
J: Oh, that's no problem. I can fix that. You just need to.... wait.... I need the motor for something else....
[editor's note: the cuisinart was never heard from again]
Me: This next thing is a...
J: A ROUTER!!!!!!
Me: Yes, but it doesn't work.
J: Yes, it does.
Me: No. It doesn't. Don Clewin said....
J: It works fine.
Me: Ooooohhhh.......kkkkkaaaayyyyy....
[editor's note: The router is currently incorporated into an electronic entertainment system to which Joshua is slowly appending new structures. It evidently plays it role adequately.]
