Woke this morning, for once, refreshed.
---
Came out of a dream about a man who was simultaneously involved in acting for a movie and yet editing a video documentary project directed by his wife.
The wife was upset that the man was doing this acting job when she needed the editing done.
The man needed both and his wife to be fulfilled.
When the man got back from acting in various scenes, he started on the editing.
More complex than just substituting scenes, he also had to complete the sound design and make alterations in the video.
One piece involved taking video shot from a cell phone in the wrong aspect ratio. He selected part of the video and enhanced it and created that piece.
The sound from the video became another piece.
This allowed him to plug in other video pieces with the sound continuing underneath.
The man seemed to be handling both gigs successfully, but apparently the wife was still not pleased.

This morning I collected information about "The May" a 1910 brick apartment building at SW 14th Ave. and SW Taylor. I have passed by this building many times on the way back home from The Portland Clinic on SW 13th Ave. and SW Taylor.
It was destroyed by a fire this week and declared unsafe for occupancy. It was an unreinforced masonry building (no steel beams) with the wood floor structure holding it together. Sad. It had castle turrets and in its better days was a nice place.
The May has gone downhill over the last decade, probably due to ever increasing property taxes and higher and higher market valuations for the property. Rents were kept suprisingly low in the face of all that, but this also meant that maintenance was kept to a minimum. Next door to it was a property that was occupied by a one story building, demolished around 2019 or 2020. Obviously someone has designs on that block for something newer and larger.
I could have seen me living in The May. It is a great location. Just a block from where I used to see my doctor, a few blocks from Everyday Music's last location. It was an easy walk to Schnitzer Auditorium and various movie theaters. The Max rolled right through with a choice of two stations.

To-day I will have breakfast, get dressed, go outside and prepare for the phone line re-location. I will take steps to move the rain barrel and prepare an area for my demolition pile.
