For the first time for me Boxing Day is boxing day.
I have boxed DVDs and VHS tapes stacked on the Predicta so I, the electrician and Alexander the carpenter can access the attic by a ladder. After lunch I will cover up the area with a bedspread and turn to boxing books.
Three of the VHS tapes are either not on DVD at all or very expensive. Madame Behave stars Julian Eltinge (el-ting). I could get a DVD for $40 total but decided to instead download from You Tube and assemble my own. Outrage stars Robert Preston and is a television movie from Irwin Allen: only released on VHS tape! Found it on You Tube, so will make my own DVD.
The Love Bug (Again) was only released by Disney on VHS tape and stars Bruce Campbell! I found it on You Tube and Disney does not seem interested in pulling it down, which makes sense in that Disney hasn't even put it up on Disney Plus.
Next Saturday and Sunday I will be cleaning out the attic bays where the steps will go and adjacent bays where the wiring will go. If I get it done quickly, I will use the rest of the time to box more books as needed and remove bookshelves. I think I can restore some of the shelving space with shallow bookshelves (no more than 9 inches total, including the thickness of the back).
This morning I contacted a company which does air analysis in homes. They are based in North Portland. I hope to hire them to determine our air quality and some steps to improve.
Meanwhile Marisa reports to me that the air inside the house is now fine.
The garbage was finally picked up to-day. I went out with my hooded jacket, picked up some stray trash and our can, then moved in the House70 cart. A bag of garbage remained in the cart for some reason.
It is raining heavilly with almost ice water! Our front rainbarrel is working well, but the back rainbarrel's downspout is clogged, so water pours off the end of the gutter, creating a small pond by the fence with no outlet. This can't be good for our foundation.
