Thanksgiving

Here we are, another Thanksgiving.
It starts not the way I had hoped: kitchen a mess, no sweet potato muffins already made.

We will manage.

My dreams were about me doing research for a radio series about Klamath County history. At the time I was no longer working for Wynne Broadcasting and living with my mom at her place on Oleander in Medford Oregon. However, I left on good terms so when I needed access to various historic archives, the county commissioner Floyd Wynne got it for me!

I only had a few days to gather materials and I wanted to coordinate with some sort of historic re-creation program happening at the same time. The time limit was based on how much money I had to stay at a motel while there.

My dream introduced a variety of complications--parking in an area not marked for the public, getting lost in a maze of hallways and floors and generally becoming overwhelmed by the amount of material...all the while trying to record sounds from the historic re-creation.

I woke up feeling overwhelmed in real life--by the number of projects I have taken on, by work, by our house, by what I had to do for Thanksgiving.

As usual, though, I go through the usual steps--biobreak, feed the cats, coffee, take my pills. Eventually I will have breakfast, get dressed and then start to systematically clean up the kitchen.

Once I get it in order, will prepare Thanksgiving dinner.

I will do muffins tomorrow.
