Relaxed and rested

In the mail to-day I received a credit card bill from my visa credit card. I had somehow misplaced the bill from last month so owed two months worth plus a late fee plus interest. The late fee plus interest totaled around $70. This certainly concerns me. I might as well have taken 7 ten-dollar bills and thrown them in a garbage can! I didn't pay the previous bill for no good reason besides a habit of trying to process mail quickly.

Now that I work from the office most days again, I am more deliberate at processing my mail. So I think this was simply another consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic, not a major failure on my part. I was simply not working through things in an orderly way.

For a week now I have been more deliberate about doing things like rinsing dishes and cat food cans on a daily basis. As a result I don't have a mountain of dirty dishes to handle. In fact, I have very few. Similarly I now work from home on Friday wearing my pajamas so I can wash my hair after work and let it dry during the evening. This allows me to not waste Saturday taking a shower.

I do have cat poo to process, so I will get dressed and do that and throw out trash and compost.

After that I will assemble the other bookshelf and do some sorting. I won't do the big grocery trip to-day but will walk over at some point and get some mini-chocolate donuts.

When I woke after 5 a.m. to feed the cats, I didn't stay up. I went back to sleep until around 8 a.m. This allowed me to wake up from a dream relaxed.

I am continuing to find fewer expensive photoplay novels to purchase. Some booksellers don't say photoplay, but will say "illustrated by scenes..." so I found several that way. Other booksellers put even less into their descriptions, so I will do further searches by found book titles to round up even less expensive copies of photoplay editions.

One I found to-day was a little more expensive, but was a 1915 novel based on a Universal silent serial from that year! I found it through this process. The copy I got was not the one I originally found, but a title search netted the one I bought.

Two others each came in under $10 each--one at Ebay price, the other a seller's counter offer after my $7 bid (the book is barely holding on): Another Scandal, The Man Without a Country.

It is a nice early Fall day to-day!

Besides the big grocery trip to-morrow my other possible things to do:
* replace windshield wipers.
* weed wack the back lawn.
* weed wack the park strip.
* sweep the front.
* cut bushes from Delbert's and Marvin's gardens. Most of the Marvin's garden work will be to pull up Douglas Spirea.
* store magic lantern slides.

dishes, photoplay novels, fall, magic lantern slides, credit card, finances
