Slowing Checking Off

Aug 04, 2022 16:26

Not much of interest to-day.
* overcast and cooler.
* working in the office.
* last night watched the first episode of "Severance", a series on AppleTV with John Turturro, Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette and others. Interesting concept.
* no work on the digital copy of 1922 lantern slide for Milton Sills movie "One Clear Call" but should be able to remove the watermark and leave a reasonably presentable image. No word yet about postage and handling for the real thing.
* looks like an "update" API I applied to a script was in the correct procedure but may not be in the correct place in the procedure.
* completed download and Dead Or Alive testing on a new vendor tool version, but install is very slow.
* likewise checking on some testing of another version.
* a macro I was debugging yesterday was handed over to another developer who knows the algorithm better than I.
* I accepted a macro enhancement to-day but I feel already overloaded. That should change next week.
* My samba drive didn't work, so I was concerned we were already migrating to a new set of computers (this is planned). I set up a drive successfully for the new area and transferred files to the new home area, but did not get it to work correctly. Then I re-tried my samba drive and it worked!
* A guy I worked with since 2012 until most recently is now leaving the company to go to a new position at another place. I am sad for us but happy for him.
* Meanwhile I learn that someone with whom I worked off and on throughout my time at this company has decided to retire. Once again, sad for us, but happy for him. I don't plan on retiring for a while. I hope in the current environment that it is not forced on me. I would like to think my skills are needed and they would not want to lose me, but you never know.
* No response to my message to Michael Johnson at Neil Kelly, so will send another message to another there and see if I get a reply.
* Tonight another episode of The Orville. This week is their last episode of the season, although I think we are a week behind so won't see it until next week. Not sure what the future plans for series hold.
