Last Tuesday, April 19, one data source said there were 0 cases of Covid-19 in Multnomah County. This is an average of all cases recorded.
Zero.
Not true! I compared to another source and it turns out the first source simply was not getting data.
The Multnomah County data from the 2nd source is difficult to get: all I can see are graphs. However, from the Oregon perspective, the lowest case count was on March 24. Since then, the cases have risen and are spiking once again.
I am curious to see what the case number will be in May. This would be two weeks after a holiday, Easter, where many might have travelled to gather in churches and homes.
With a more transmissable version of the virus, the case number will indicate just how our county is really doing.
It certainly looks like the virus is spreading. Both Senator Ron Wyden and U.S. Vice President Harris have contracted the virus.
My requirement for wearing a mask has been -- must be under 10 new cases per 100,000. Currently we are at 219 cases per 100,000. Masks on!
