Went to the dump to-day.
* Unloaded years worth of spent batteries and compact florescent bulbs which I found in at least six different boxes in the front room. I poured the batteries into a paper bag and the bulbs into another and recycled all the boxes except one.
* removed mostly empty boxes from the basement and some packing materials. Packing materials went to the dump, cardboard into the recycling bin.
* swept dirt and styrofoam peanuts into a bag and threw that into the truck.
* removed the spent flat screen from the box and the styrofoam inserts, broke down the box and put that out for pick-up tomorrow (not in the bin...I think they will take it that way).
It cost $35 to deposit our junk. Rates went up in July.
The spent office chair was heavy and mostly metal so they moved that to the metal scrap heap for me...and took the monitor for me in a cart.
Waited for quite a while to give them the bulbs and batteries. Someone had a lot of spent paint to donate.
I believe I will spend a lot of time re-organizing the basement and will simply throw out cardboard to clear space! Eventually we will find other things to toss but I hope by then we will have a special corner for those things and just accumulate until we have a full load.
To-morrow I will work on the back room and front room:
* replace cat door with blocking wood.
* throw out crap.
* work on tidying the front room and get goodwill stuff ready to go.
* move back room stuff for goodwill to front room.
* move items to another place in the front room...destined for the basement.
* put up roller blinds.
* vacuum.
* set up cat litter boxes
* remove amp from dining room.
* move dining table to back room.
* vacuum dining room.
* move new dining table to new home.
The woofer won't be here to-day: some "unexpected" delay says UPS. So, to-morrow. It is in Portland this afternoon but doubt it will be delivered to-day.
To do for the A/V:
* name the remaining 5 commercial stations by getting frequencies and then checking online for callsigns.
* look at changing the output to the ARC HDMI output and tv input to avoid the annoying but otherwise ineffective pop-up when starting the monitor.
* get the laser disc working:
-- get the new remote, put in the batteries and test it.
-- look at the RCA cabling to the amp .
* hook up the new woofer.
* check speaker connections.
* re-run the speaker setup.
* look at the custom button.
* construct antenna
* hook up antenna
My stomach has been uneasy all day. Twice I wanted to do bowel movements but instead got diarrhea. Good news is that in the early afternoon I did get worm to small snake like bowel movements without the discharge. I am hoping this is a good sign. The stomach problem now may just be hunger, but I am reluctant to eat.
I have asked for nurse advice from Kaiser (yesterday), called to get member services to get a return call from my doctor, sent a message to the doctor with a photo of the diarrhea discharge. No return calls!
If I have diarrhea again to-morrow I will go to urgent care.
