The Shape
* Watched most of Hook, the Steven Spielberg movie starring Robin Williams and Dustlin Hoffman. It was actually pretty good. I say "most of" because I didn't see the title credits and a section in the middle as I was using the time to do my normal morning preparations.
* Watched first third of CBS Sunday Morning which included a segment on Dyslexia. One woman with Dyslexia learned to recognize words by the shape of the outline of the letters rather than through the individual letters! It is no surprise that about half of all people put in prison have Dyslexia...people who were frustrated by an education system which doesn't know how to deal with them, a system that depends on individuals learning how to read in a traditional way. One in twenty children have some degree of Dyslexia!
* Throughout the day continued to process dishes, ending up with all the cat food cans rinsed and recycled...and all dishes into the dishwasher. Ran the dishwasher overnight.
* Went thrift shopping for clothes I could wear in our upcoming cos-play thing in San Francisco next week. Found one jacket but nothing else. Needed a vest (waist coat) and charcoal t-shirt (no writing). Nothing my size.
* Driving to the big Goodwill was frustrating: all the roads were blocked off for some sort of cycling event, but we got there eventually on main arterials, then Mill Street.
* Cleaned up all the cat poop by the dining room tall bookcase. I have to drop in from the back of the futon loveseat to get there, brush the poop to under the table, then brush the poop from under the table to near the litter box before finally getting it into the box, then put it into the bag.
* Made macaroni and cheese with soy chorizo...then Marisa and I watched The Shape of Water, a neat movie about marginalized people who make a difference and who do the right thing. It is so much more than that, but it my take-away.
* Less daylight these days. Noticeable.
* Nice weather, although a bit hot in the sun.
