The South Pacific looks like an interesting place to visit.
Just east of Australia lies Vanuatu, with the Solomon Islands to the north, American Samoa farther east and south east...the Cook Islands.
There is also French Polynesia.

The Cook Islands is an independent nation but is strongly associated with New Zealand.
The Solomon Islands--was once a protectorate of the U.S. but is now its own independent nation but with plenty of connections to the U.S.
