Movies, Portland buildings, budget, income

* Last night Marisa and I watched the third Dark Knight movie. I have seen the end of it for some reason but not the beginning. Marisa had never seen it. She wanted to see it because Tom Hardy played a bad guy in the film. It is the same guy who played the bad guy in Star Trek Nemesis, which Marisa has also not seen, and the good guy in Venom. This movie was quite epic. The first part kept you asking "What is going on" and throughout there were always questions. A good film.
* Also watched episode 1 of the 3rd season of Enterprise. It had a tense fight scene and a nail-biter...alot of things going on, yet it somehow all held together.
* Viewed the first episode of the 2nd season of Black Books. Very funny episode about a piano.
* The Thursday episode from the Orville was also viewed. Very good episode about an astrology based planet. Ted Danson had a cameo role.
* Can't quite escape from Ebay entirely, but managing to severely limit my exposure.
--bought a 10 slide set from a seller that I had previously bought and then he refunded me when he couldn't find it. He found it so felt obligated to buy it again. $4/slide, which is reasonable.
--bought two CCC photos at a very reasonable price and used the rest of Marisa's gift to me while buying. From here on tracking Herbert Junk photos but not buying.
--tracking glass negatives by Tibbitts but not buying.
--one Oregon 8mm film of an Eastern Oregon trip intrigues me. I may bid on it in February.
--two Portland Oregon buildings I have tracked have new photos that were published in The Oregonian in 1953. I found the articles and know who the photographer is for one of them. Both have very interesting stories. I put in minimal bids for both and if I win should be able to combine for lower postage/handling...and pay for them on Feb. 1.
--did buy a card deck I fondly remember from when I was 10 years old. It had images from popular media which I liked, but did not know much about them. To-day I can identify most if not all of them from movies I have seen since then. Was my interest in older popular movies stirred by these cards? Don't know. Paid about $30 for the deck, but considering I see each card from the deck on auction, I think this reasonable. Wish I had my original deck, of course!
* Noticed I got some stock dividends last year, so last week I had the money transferred to my checking account...more than $300. I don't plan to spend it, but save it. Doesn't do any good in the brokerage account.
* I was on the brokerage account website to authorize 10% withdrawl for the stock purchase plan at work. The withdrawls start either next month or in March, so there will be a little less income as a result. However, the payout will be in September and every half-year when I earn at least a 15% interest on the amount through a quick stock sale. My attention to limiting extra expenses will be needed as I will get probably $700 less per month.

To-day--take a shower, go to the grocery store, and move stuff around in the back room. I may dink around with a few things from the Fix-It Fair.
