As I get closer to the half-way mark on my sabbatical I feel not very accomplished. I had hoped to do more than just this:
* junk drawer cleaned.
* removed accumulated mail from the Birmingham chair.
* bedroom bed is made to-day.
* Squeaky's medicine administered.
* All Ebay communications done.
* Ate breakfast.
* Put away macaroni and cheese I fixed last night.
* Did a 75% cleaning of Betty's chair in the kitchen (crumbs and Squeaky's cat hair).
* Swept part of the kitchen floor (mouse poop?)
* Took many photos of San Francisco but need to start processing.
* Gathered G.M. Anderson films (where he was an actor) and images for some DVDs.
* received Marisa's driver's license Federal-Expressed from San Francisco.
So, in other words, I am pretty much finished with the aftermath of our San Franciso trip. Left to do:
* download photos
* get photos from Marisa which she took
* transfer data from laptop to main computer
* work on research.
The weather is cooler and we have had enough moisture that I am able to pull some weeds successfully (with roots). The grass seed I placed months ago is starting to emerge on the park strip.
So I can get onto organizing and cleaning tasks and preparing for the next trip...and begin to rework path ways, install fences.
Financially we are behind. Just as I got even, we get another expense from that person Marisa has been giving money. Also, Squeaky.
Squeaky had reduced appetite when we got back, had lost his meow and is not interested in playing.
So we brought him to the vet yesterday. The exam, new meds, x-rays and blood tests cost $770. The vet called to-day: no issues on blood tests. The x-ray specialist says there may be some growth near the pancreas: difficult to tell without an ultra-sound. They may even need to take samples. So we are talking another 300-400 dollars probably. We scheduled that for next Thursday.
We failed with Delbert when we didn't follow-up on potential cancer. This time I want us to do everything possible for Squeaky. We will deal with the financial implications.
I am having dreams about sabbatical return issues and seem to have a bit of a cold. I am also bothered by the accident with the bicyclist: I found white paint transfer on the driver's side corner of the back of the truck consistant with the accident.
So is this sabbatical useful? So far, I am not sure.
