The duo returned to-day. They worked to level the dirt and created a new mound of excess dirt.
The one guy who seems more comfortable talking with me in English said they had used the plastic sheeting to haul away seven loads of dirt which he used as fill dirt on his brother's ranch. Places to legally bring in dirt are closed on the weekend.
They set up string for the edges of the drive way and it all looked good. He asked me about where the pavers should end up and I showed him the level of the dirt at the edge of the roughed in pathway I had (not the brick level but the dirt). So he said that the slope almost to that point will end and then it will be flat through to the end.
The other guy said the concrete water meter enclosure there to-day will need to be replaced because it will crumble with the weight of the car rolling over it.
They also have 2x4s to form the concrete, which the first guy says should be in by Friday and ready by Monday!
Seems they were comfortable with the leveling so put in the initial load of gravel. They should, in theory, go 4-6 inches of gravel before the pavers...so imagine to-morrow's activities will be to layer on more gravel and to create the concrete forms for the sidewalk, concrete extension, the approach and the curb cut.
