Excavation Continues, Landscape Fabric in use

May 12, 2018 10:46

Starting around 10 a.m. the two guys here yesterday returned.

One guy broke up the sod in the park strip around the water meter and threw it in the flat bed trailer, the other guy drove the tractor/scoop, removing more soil from Byron Hill and also putting it in the trailer.

The trailer was lined with a heavy black plastic.

I am pretty sure the heavy black plastic was the landscape fabric that came with the pavers. I do not think its current use as a way to haul dirt was the intended use, so hope they return it when finished.

After 1 p.m. they ran the concrete cutter down the drive way and across the sidewalk. I am not sure why they needed to cut out the sidewalk after the property line.

By 5 p.m. they left with all of sidewalk removed and most of the sloping part of the driveway, but still left the original curb cut. I wonder if they can re-use that?

The water meter does look a bit high for where the driveway will go, so wonder how that will work out. The contractor's representative, Jake, said they will take care of that.

There still is a lot of dirt to remove from Byron Lump (no longer Hill). If they work on Sunday, they can remove that with the rest of the curbing.

The mini-excavator is sitting on the secondary property line pipe. I am really concerned they will mess up these markers.
