Portland, Oregon is getting more snow again.
This time a light accumulation but after hitting about an inch vehicles will slide. I was driving around doing errands while I still could do this during the day. It was fine for a while, but about 3:30 I noticed at intersections a little sliding.
I was not nervous, though, because it was daylight and I tried to keep my distance from parked cars as well as from moving vehicles.
There were a few vehicles which seemed insistant on driving the speed limit on North Lombard, for example, and using both lanes in each direction. Frankly, when there is snow, it is better to not drive in the usual lane per lane configuration to limit lateral spacing (more room to manuever a vehicle which has lost traction).
I did do all my errands: filled my truck's gas tank, withdrew grocery money, mailed letters, and redeemed a few bottles (15). There was only a little sliding: I got home before it got too bad.
