Marisa and I brought in the New Year at the Arlene Schnitzer Performing Arts Center with a Pink Martini concert. Great fun, but row B, seats 3 and 4 was actually a little too close and below the stage level. Next time will go for the dress circle.
We stayed at the Paramount Hotel.
It was cold and windy. We both agree we need to spend the extra dollars to drive into Portland and store our car nearby to limit how much we have to be outside. The Tri-Met approach is just too much.
Dinner at The Swank, in the hotel, was wonderful. Our table was right by the gas fireplace. We both had trout...something I would not normally not countenance, but all of the entrees were meat. It is tough to find vegetarian as a New Year's Eve dinner option in this area.
