Rainy weekend

It has been more than two weeks now without Spalding. It is a rainy weekend, but we got out this morning before the rain started and had breakfast at Sheri's for $43 including tip and a whole pie.

We think Cirrus has adapted to being the only cat now. He actually will get on the couch with us.

In a way he adopted traits of Spalding, Delbert and even Marvin--cats of ours he knew.

He has unique traits of his own...his ability to always sit down right where we want to walk, his almost obsessive interest in water: jumping in the sink (and we let him drink from a very slight stream of water) or into the tub (after we have taken a shower). Although other cats jumped on me while I was laying in bed, Spalding always makes sure to get as close to my head as possible.

However, when we first met he didn't sit in my lap and would occasionally bite me. Maybe I adjusted or maybe he did....and maybe he wanted to sit in my lap except that was Delbert's thing. Now Cirrus is doing it...when he feels it, of course.

I got some cat food for him to-day. We used to go through it very fast with the appetite of Spalding...but Cirrus likes smaller portions more frequently...and doesn't like turkey. So I got the two seafood pate types of canned Friskies catfood.

Yesterday I managed to clear out all the receipts and paper items sitting around our bedroom and in the black living room chair. I will finish that process to-day and run the vacuum cleaner, I hope. We are just trying to get back to normalcy again after weeks of not doing the little things that keep the house fairly organized.

Next weekend, solo, I hope to go beyond little things and do some major re-organization. That is my hope.
