Mid-week

* Purple Catalpa now doing very well. Leaves are sprouting from all sorts of places.
* Nice mole tunnel right under the tree. I poured in the six gallons of water for the tree and the hole just swallowed it all up! I shoveled a bunch of dirt and leaves and tried to fill the hole before putting another six gallons in.
* A good part of the retaining wall in the front has lost its foundation: moles digging up the sand!
* New weeds sprouting everywhere...they look like tomato plants but grow straight up.
* The small evergreen seedling was overwhelmed by those weeds, so I pulled out the little tree's competition.
* The year-old evergreen seedling doing very well: no competition and it has new growth everywhere except one of its two tips (the top part of the tree).
* Cats doing well. Cirrus welcomed me to-day and rolled around on the sidewalk for me: I stroked his tummy and he kept rolling around for me. Need to get a new license for him. Spalding was locked in the front room earlier this week but otherwise is doing well.
* House 70 needs an whole house air conditioner. I don't have time to shop immediately so they may end up getting a small one for their kids.
* Temperatures may get up to around 90 this weekend.
* Going to SF soon for two days...a conference at the Moscone Center and one night stay at the Beresford Arms.
* This weekend need to go to Best Buy and find a thin, light camera: aka a cell phone without the phone, but maybe one with low light capabilities and good for videos. Some of these don't come with transfer cables or manuals: watch for that! Also need to get a good 32 gigabyte card.
* Work is good: trying to finish the cshell/perl programming stuff and learning a good deal along the way. Have a good perl programming task ahead.
* Marisa doing a lot of burlesque stuff. She is going to one show to-night while I scrounge for some food at home.
* On Ebay won two albums from an Oregon/Washington teacher/coach from the 1930s and got a few more of the KF teacher photos (including a neat one from an infant SOU in Ashland) and a few more William Edward Kerr family photos.
* Organized my Oregon and Portland research. My collection is starting to shape up into a statement of history instead of a set of isolated facts and pictures.
