The slow ride back to sunlight
I am up at 6:40 a.m. and am discouraged that it is still dark. It is Winter, what do I expect? It is just that I wish it were over already.
Never felt like this when I lived in Medford Oregon. Just that much farther south adds just enough daylight through the Winter that it is tolerable. I was beginning to feel it when I lived in Eugene, but once north of that 45 degree latitude point (which is between Eugene and Portland) I think it is just a bit too much.
I truly understand why some people who live here are "snowbirds" which means that come Winter they close up their house here and live in Southern California, Arizona...somewhere with a smaller latitude.
Okay, enough griping. I will just try to ignore the darkness and finish my waking-up routine. Need to get to work so I can be there well before 9 a.m., when there is a short meeting.
