2011 1st task complete--email archiving
All of the emails received and retained in 2010 were transferred to a 2010 folder under the appropriate box. I have folders for each year with exception of 1999-2001 and 2004-2005 where I just grouped them together: I think those periods were too busy for me to stop at year's beginning to do the sorting. One of these days I will split them just to keep consistent.
My use of the internet and emails before 1997 was, for the most part, experimental and frankly I didn't have much cause to reach out. Somewhere I must have saved what little communication I did through email...probably on 5 1/4 inch floppies!
This year's was much easier as I have learned to toss as I go.
Also, unfortunately, fewer communications are through email.
The bulk of the emails kept were regarding Ebay purchases, which I often do go back and search through. I just wish the emails said more about the items I purchase. The subject lines often are not descriptive enough to go back and find later.
