Up to 15 packages for October
* Two more packages arrived today: a VHS tape of Powers of Ten and a DVD of Ragtime, both through Amazon. That's 15 packages for October. So much for keeping it close to 10...now the goal is to keep the total for the month close to 20 and to reduce that count in November.
* Work: all-day class today on UNIX. It is mostly stuff I already knew, but several new things made it worthwhile to me.
* Overcast skies this afternoon.
* Need gas for the truck in the morning...and new set of tires and oil change soon.
* Saw Obama's Portland visit via U-tube. There was plenty of room to add more supporters. It was an enthusiastic crowd but not what I would have hoped. However, I wasn't there: only in spirit. It's a work day! I think that was the problem. Funny to watch one of the videos: every other person had a camera/video camera/cell phone held high in the air.
* Oh, I now have one of those mobile phones. When we were in Seaside I took the plunge because we needed to be in touch. $7/month including the cost of the $20 phone. I am paid up through mid-March then have to get another 3-month extension for $20. Makes a semi-decent clock, too.
