One credit card to rule them all

The check to pay my WAMU credit card came through and there is a zero balance today! So I quickly gathered all the info I could from the online services and then canceled the account! The Albina credit card is now my only one!

When I got the online info I checked my credit rating. It has been good now for several months and I don't know how I can get it to be better at this point. Alas, won't be able to track that any more as I did under WAMU (and Chase won't do it, so the idea that I should stay in WAMU/Chase for that service is wrong). I will just have to pay my complete bill every month on time (as I should)!

Meanwhile discovered that telephone services at Albina are denied me: does not recognize my account and social security combination. Another annoyance: you can't "key ahead" so have to wait until the telephone is message is completely finished before entering the requested code.

I will have to wait until Monday to resolve that situation.

So definitely some disadvantages with a community bank, but I can live with them as long as I can eventually get my account info on the phone (even if I have to wade through excessive automated chatter).

Next up:
* write checks for monthly bills on the new checks.
* call Albina and get the telephone access problem fixed.
* watch for the retirement transfer to the money market account.
* watch for the atm card for Albina so I can get cash as needed.
* watch for the big check or direct deposit from a stock sale last week. Once I have that I can clear out the remaining cash from WAMU except for $19.99.
* close our joint account after transfer of any remaining balance.
