Into 2025

Dec 30, 2024 14:07

So far so good. We are going into 2025 without any major financial or health issues and investigating, correcting for anything needed.

Our bathroom shower leaking is over and one activity for 2025 is to patch the ceiling. It is slightly complex for all three locations because it is plaster with drywall on top!

Woke up this morning after experiencing a bee invasion in my dream...bee larvae and bee swarms outside where I was living...and all the tenants looked to me to find a solution!

Nothing like that here.

Today I should complete a task assigned at least a year ago. I have mounted two LED light strips in the "warriors" cabinet and will complete that today. Note to me in the future: large drill bits will not work without graduating the hole first with smaller bits. The reason: the first fractional inch of the bit won't bite into the wood, just puncture it somewhat, then just simply spin. I think this may have worked with real wood, but for MDF "fake" wood it won't grab on.

Also, another note: fishing for wires works best as a pull. Attach the end of the pull (in my case used wire from Chinese take-out box handles) with a half inch or less U clamped onto a loop of wire, not a plug or thicker piece. You can pull in the loop, unattach it from the pull, then slide through the thicker piece.

I should be able to get nails today (again) for our fence: then I will be prepared to fix the back fence. I already have the hammer and the ratchet strap.

Also this week, probably Wednesday, I will fix the bathroom sink drain now that I have the wrenches to open up the part that holds the stopper.

January...no big bills expected, unless Medicare bills early for February/March/April. I have one of the reinbursement deposits from SERMA which allowed us to complete restoring our funds. Hope there are no unexpected bills this month.

We finished Dune: Prophesy, season 1 last week--so no more Sunday night new episodes. Still watching Silo episodes on Friday, Star Trek: Lower Decks (we are running behind...all episodes from their last season are now available), Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and His Material Things (or whatever it is called). Also continuing Agents of SHIELD. Stargate:SG1 season 3 will stop streaming tomorrow, so we should get a couple of episodes in before we go to our DVDs (I don't think it is otherwise available beginning in 2025). The Section 31 movie will be out this month. Also, Severance season 2 begins in mid-month. Disney has a limited series animation program about their imagined view of how dreams are created. We watched episode 2 recently.

Finally got to see Betelgeuss Betelgeuss (we revisited Betelgeuss on Saturday). It was fun and had a few unexpected twists and turns...all completely connected with the original movie including its return to East Corinth, Vermont to film it!

Milton Sills is at 13%. I keep refining and bringing in new information and writing more each day. I got an article on George Walsh and Raoul Walsh today which should help, also received a book on the Spanish Flu pandemic which will be key.
