So much

Spent most of the day on Tuesday soaking in what I could from a super fast series of presentations about a new "thing" at work. All of the speakers were difficult to understand (they were all Chinese, from Taiwan) and only seconds were spent on each image. Nevertheless I got to meet with people. Traffic there and back was good because the training was from 7 to 3, so I missed the rush hours. It was clear in the morning, light rain on the way back. Apparently the St. Johns bridge can cause delays as they funnel traffic through one lane with the road to Portland completely blocked for work through June!

Spent the time on breaks looking at the list of things I have to do!

My big thing right now is to get that one register into the floor. I tried the planer to shave off part of the opening, but that doesn't work. So looks like I need to bring in my jigsaw!

Also need to get the hand-held circular saw and shop vacuum ready for cutting the wall in the dining room: I need to see if I can connect the vac hose to the tool exhaust port directly or if I need to buy a coupler.

The city inspector put in his final report, approving final electrical, plumbing, mechanical and structural work in our back room...allowing us to use the back room and basement.

Received three balusters yesterday. All I need is the over-easing rail piece to finish the stair railing (Feb. 12 possibly).

When I get back from work today I hope to try the jigsaw and get the first register in place. If that works, I might even enlarge the hole for the flange/escutcheon for the dryer port.
