Still Anxious

Hearings are still taking place for the Wildlife Department to take public input on the bear hunt in Oklahoma.  If you can call, whether in state or out, Call (405) 521-3852 then  tell them (you have until friday at 4:30pm central time)
1) that a bear should be at least 75 lbs and
2) that feeding stations (baiting) should be removed ten days prior to a hunt.
30 That research should take place immediately after a hunt to determine the impact on the bear population.

This will protect the cubs and will keep bears from being leisurely shot while they are eating the bait.  This is a rule in the majority of those 28 states which allow for hunting of bear.  With Oklahoma Bear populations so low, quite frankly a bear hunt should not even be considered, not perhaps for another 40 years.  It has taken 40 years for bears to rgo from 0 bears to between 200 and 400 bears statewide.  Bears don't bounce back easily from a hunt.

I think I shall finally get adequate sleep without these constant pursuit dreams this whole issue has brought about, once the issue is resolved.  I take bear hunting, very personally.
